Description


The New EDGE School Science curriculum aims to help children develop basic scientific ideas and understanding about the biological and physical aspects of the world, and the processes through which they develop this knowledge and understanding.

Assessment


Teacher assessments are continuous during LIVE TAUGHT lessons, marking of coursework and assignments and summative tests.

Homework


Homework will be given at the end of each week, usually in the form of researching key concepts, artists, cultures, and art history that will inform their making.

Reporting


Parents have 24 /7 access to all of their children’s coursework, grades, and teacher feedback. Additionally, parents can arrange consultations with teachers at mutually convenient times.

A carefully curated 2-year program of activities designed to build pupils’ confidence, knowledge, and skills. All of the formal elements are explored; line, shape, tone, form, color, texture, working with media and materials, mixed media, 3d/sculpture. This endeavor is connected to the work of artists, history, and culture, through skills exercises, group projects, art projects, stand-alone artworks during this key stage of artistic development.

Not applicable at Key Stage 3 – no qualification to be attained.

Basic drawing and painting materials will suffice for the completion of this course. The recycling bin is a treasure trove of colours, textures, forms which are ideal for mixed media and 3d work.
